You should go. No really, you should just take a day and go to Carillon Park in Dayton OH. Appreciate the rich history of our little town, we held more patents per capita than any other U.S. city until the mid 20th century. Giants walked these streets and their legacy is kept alive at Carillon Park, so you can see the only airplane designated a National Historic Landmark, learn about the entrepreneurial spirit that rebuilt Dayton after the Great 1913 Flood and has kept us safe ever since, and all the inventions Daytonians have created to make the world a better place.

It’s a beautiful space on the banks of the Great Miami River, and that might be my favorite thing about it. It’s nestled against the University of Dayton campus, and the picturesque neighborhood of Hills and Dales, it’s just a lovely and peaceful place to spend some time. Grab the kids and the grandparents and make a day of it!
